چکیده

The XML-based Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) for document exchange defines a three-level document architecture with each higher level adding more specificity to the markup of the document. Such a layered architecture also meets the requirement for semantic processing of hierarchically structured clinical documents. The CDA supports shared care between hospital-based and community-based physicians, knowledge integration by permitting external links to other documents, and outcomes research through the capture of discrete and coded clinical data. The research reported in this paper has lead to the successful prototyping of a CDA-based Structured Discharge Summary system. Structured discharge summaries are used to move clinical information from the clinical environment, such as the geriatrics department of a hospital, to the community environment of family practice. They are an education, communication, research, and administration tool in the Departments of Medicine and Family Medicine and at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.

Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML

As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

Toward the Automatic Generation of the Entry Level CDA Documents

Objective: CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) is a markup standard for clinical document exchange. In order to increase the semantic interoperability of documents exchange, the clinical statements in the narrative blocks should be encoded with code values. Natural language processing (NLP) is required in order to transform the narrative blocks into the coded elements in the level 3 CDA docume...

The Use of Summaries in XML Retrieval

The availability of the logical structure of documents in contentoriented XML retrieval can be beneficial for users of XML retrieval systems. However, research into structured document retrieval has so far not systematically examined how structure can be used to facilitate the search process of users. We investigate how users of an XML retrieval system can be supported in their search process, ...

Advanced Information Retrieval Using XML Standards

The bulk of clinical data is available in an electronic form. About 80% of the electronic data, however, is narrative text and therefore limited with respect to machine interpretation. As a result, the discussion has shifted from "electronic versus paper based data" towards "structured versus unstructured electronic data". The XML technology of today paves a way towards more structured clinical...
